These come with the X5 forks and are SUPER easy to work with. Coming from compression plugs this is a GIANT improvement. I have been riding Box forks with these stem locks in them for a while now and have never been more confident in my riding.

This stem lock is great. Hold everything together really well if used correctly. Tighten the stem lock, then tighten stem. Notice there are three sizes. Make sure to double check your size. 1" usually for smaller kids bikes. 1 1/8" for most frames. 1 1/8-1.5 for the tapered higher end frames.

Having had a stem come off the steering tube after the star nut failed I saw these as a more secure alternative to star nuts. They are definitely more secure than a traditional star nut and better yet they don’t damage the inside of steering tubes as star nuts do. I now use these on everything from bmx to mtb.
